Hello everyone,

Thought I'd post up a journal, been a while.

Erm so I recently hit 3k page views, OHH YEAH!! Thanks for the continued support!

Anyway I've decided to go back to basics and get up to speed with anatomy and life studies at the moment; not gonna lie, algenpleger and a few other artists I've seen on CA have inspired me to do this. So I've been studying bits of Hogarth, (though I've been advised to stay away from him) Peck, and I'm going to start looking at some Bammes stuff even though I cant understand German. Along side this I've been on posemaniacs quite a lot, and I've also been doing character photo studies.. I need to start getting back into digital soon, so I'll do some random photo studies when I get chance; and this time I'm not going to pick colours from the photo, cause I need to actually learn and understand colour theory from scratch. I gotta say that colour picking is probably the worst habit I've picked up on my venture into digital painting.

Now loads of people have been leaving CA, and I really have no idea why.. So I'm not sure whether to start an account tbh, but I need somewhere to post all my studies and rough sketches as I don't really want to put them all on here and spam everyone. Anyone have any ideas??

This recent path into finding myself as an artist only poses one slight little problem.. WTF am I doing with my life?! I can't answer that right now but all I know is that I'm enjoying 2d much more than 3d right now. So despite concentrating on becoming a character artist for the last few years at uni, I think I'll roll with my art for now and see if I can't be motivated to get back into zbrush and 3ds max a little way down the line.

Ahhh, feels kinda good to get this shit out of my head..

On a more exciting note, myself and a good friend from uni have finalised our backpacking plans and I actually can't wait! Going to be travelling for 6 months through India, Nepal, Tibet, Southern China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Been saving for a while now and I'm about £2k from my £7k total. Looking forward to experiencing all the different cultures as well as doing lots of  photography and sketching. Roll on November!!

Well I'm off to go fix up my new tv/monitor, my last one died so I've been without games and my sexy dual monitor set-up for far too long.
