2hr speedpaint.

Another African landscape for my final year project in Uni. I'm going to be designing and creating 5 characters, and if I have time, an environment for them to be posed in.

The main protagonist is an African tribes boy sent out to the wilderness for his initiation process with the aim of finding his magical abilities and therefore returning a warrior within the tribe.

Not sure whether the hills leading up the mountain work, or the cattle actually look like cattle, but I'm pretty happy with the piece overall.

Played with rendering lighting effects on this one.

Critique and comments appreciated!

UPDATE!!

Brought the sky back in some, edited lighting and pushed mt. Kilimanjaro a bit further back into the distance. (was too saturated in the last version!)

I've also added a bigger file for a decent'ish wallpaper!

simple use of colour and line work but does the job of setting the scene, even viewing it as a thumbnail image you knew it was an African setting.
